Akbar Allahabadi - "Aam"

नाम न कोई यार को पैग़ाम भेजिए,
इस फसल में कुछ भेजिए तोह बस "आम" भेजिए.
ऐसे ज़रूर हों की उन्हें रख के खा सकूं,

पुख्ता (पका हुआ) अगर हों बीस तोह दस खाम (कच्चा) भेजिए.
मालूम ही है आपको बन्दे का एड्रेस,

सीधे अल्लाहाबाद मेरे नाम भेजिए.
ऐसा न हो की आप कहें जवाब में,
"तामील होगी, पहले मगर दाम भेजिए".

naam na koi yaar ko paigaam bhejiye,
is fasal mein kuchh bhejiye to bas "aam" bhejiye.
aise zaroor ho ki unhe rakh ke kha sakoon,
pukhta (paka hua) agar ho bees to das khaam (kachha) bhejiye.
maaloom hi hai aapko bande ka address,
seedhe allahabad mere naam bhejiye.
aisa na ho ki aap kahein jawaab mein,
"taameel hogi, pehle magar daam bhejiye".

no letter, no message my  friend,
in this season, "mango" is what you should send.
they should be such that I can sit down and eat,
if you send 20 ripe mangoes, then send 10 raw ones too.

"your order will be fulfilled, but first you must pay".
